2008's SPECIAL LEAP DAY BABY BOY....


LEAP-YEAR SCHOLAR: At the stroke of midnight on Friday, Adam Jamal Clark became the first leap-year baby here, which entitled him to a $30,000 scholarship from the Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS). The 3.7kg tot, the first child of Luke and Naeema Clark, will have his tertiary education cost taken care of by the award should he decide to take up any Bachelor's degree programme offered by the institude and its university partners from Australia, the United Kingdom and United States.

'We don't have to start saving for his education,' said the beaming parents. This is the second MDIS leap-year scholarship - the first was given to Tim Shee Zhe Guang in 2004.

Dr Eric Kuan, MDIS president, said: 'We believe that education is the best gift for any child. The scholarship represents the next leap in learning and knowledege ."
